Public Service Projects
Portland Association for Health Underwriters is committed to giving back to our community. Check out some of the public service projects PAHU has participated in and see the Events page for an updated calendar of volunteer opportunities. If you have any ideas for new charities to partner with that could use our help, we’d love to hear them!
Gales Creek Clean-Up Day
The Gales Creek Camp Foundation is dedicated to providing camp experiences for children, youth and families directly affected by Type I diabetes. PAHU is committed to fostering the transition toward independence by integrating the management of diabetes with social and life skills.
My Sisters House
Several PAHU board members and volunteers gathered to support Portland non-profit, My Sisters House at their annual plant sale. It’s not easy waking up early on a Saturday morning but this crew was all smiles and more than willing to lend a hand.
CCA Cabin Cleanup
Dedicated volunteers Suzie Moll and daughter Becca Houk, Marley Mehlus, Mike Welch, Audrey Schumacher, Tim Rasch, Karmen Bickel and daughter Ella Neal, Steve Smith, and our furry mascot Oliver worked tirelessly to weed and clear the grounds of the Children’s Cancer Association’s Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin. No rain and an encounter with a certain 8-legged friend of Suzie’s made for a wonderful Saturday!Thank you PAHU Volunteers, for a job well done at CCA’s Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin. And a big thank you to Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon for sponsoring this event!
